The Mediroyal TFCC Elbow Component works with the TFCC wrist orthosis to provide additional rotational stability during pronation and supination, when the forearm turns palm down or palm up. It supports the elbow without restricting bending or straightening. This component has no standalone function and must be used with the TFCC wrist orthosis.
Features
- Made from a thermoplastic polymer with natural cork to reduce weight.
- Shaped to provide support over the elbow condyles.
- Overlapping design with a Boa® system to make application easier.
- The Boa® system attaches with a low-profile hook and can be positioned individually on the surface.
- Overlaps the upper end of the wrist orthosis to extend the lever arm and increase axial rotational stability.
- Allows elbow flexion and extension.
- Available in left and right versions.
Suitable For
- Use together with the TFCC wrist orthosis when additional rotational stability is needed.
- Supporting the elbow while maintaining bending and straightening movement.
Usage Notes
When combining the elbow component with the TFCC wrist orthosis, avoid a wrist orthosis that is too long: the elbow component needs to overlap its upper end. The recommended overlap is approximately 3 cm.
The elbow component can be applied from behind the elbow or over the wrist. Remove the Boa® system from the overlap before application, then reattach it.
Hook-attached pads can be applied over one or both elbow condyle areas for additional support. A 5 cm NRX® strap can also be applied over the elbow joint to provide more individual compression and support.
