TFCC Elbow Component – Lightweight Thermoplastic Support

The Mediroyal TFCC Elbow Component is an add-on for people using the TFCC wrist orthosis. It extends the lever arm to provide greater axial rotation stability during pronation and supination without restricting elbow flexion or extension.

Features

• Provides support over the elbow condyles.
• Overlapping design with a Boa system for easy application.
• Low-profile Boa hook can be positioned individually on the surface.
• Hook-attached pads can be applied over the condyle areas on one or both sides for additional support.
• A 5 cm NRX strap can be applied over the elbow joint for additional compression and support.

Specifications

• Construction: thermoplastic polymer with natural cork to reduce weight.
• Recommended overlap with the proximal part of the TFCC wrist orthosis: approximately 3 cm.

Sizing

• Available in sizes 1, 2 and 3.
• Left and right versions available.

Use and fitting

• This elbow component has no standalone function and only works with the TFCC wrist orthosis.
• Avoid a wrist orthosis that is too long, as the elbow component needs to overlap its proximal part.
• The unit can be applied from behind the elbow or over the wrist. Remove the Boa system from the overlap and reapply it during fitting.
