Wrist Thumb Support – Stabilising Thumb and Wrist Splint

The Oppo Medical Wrist Thumb Support is a thumb splint with a heat-mouldable thermoplastic plate, designed to relieve pain and stabilise the thumb. Listed applications include ulnar/radial collateral ligament injury, arthritis, DeQuervain’s tenosynovitis, MCP or CMC joint dislocation, and gamekeeper’s thumb.

Sizing

Measure the circumference of the wrist to determine size.

Fitting instructions

1. Insert the thermoplastic plate into the pocket.
2. Pour hot water at approximately 75°C / 167°F into the pocket. Water temperature must not exceed 100°C / 212°F.
3. Pour out the water when the thermoplastic plate becomes mouldable.
4. Mould the plate and wait until it becomes stiff. Dry the support with a towel.
5. Adjust the Velcro® strap for the correct fit.
